This Privacy Notice explains how AdninCap – EduAid collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit our website, apply for or use our education-financing services, or otherwise interact with us.
We process personal data responsibly and in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and other applicable data protection laws.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as your: Name and contact details; Date of birth and identification information; Residential and employment information; Financial and income information; Bank or payment details; Information relating to your education-financing application; Information relating to the school, institution or student for whom financing is being sought; Information provided by guarantors or other supporting parties; and Communications, enquiries, feedback and complaints; and any other information that may be required for EduAid’s services.
Where necessary, we may also receive information from schools, identity-verification providers, credit-reference providers, payment providers and other authorised third parties. We may collect limited technical information, such as your IP address, device and browser information, when you use our website.
How we use your information
We use your personal data to process and assess financing applications, verify your identity and eligibility, administer financing and payments, communicate with you, provide customer support, prevent fraud, improve our services, conduct research where applicable, and meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We process your personal data only where we have a lawful basis to do so, including where processing is necessary to provide a service or perform a contract, comply with a legal obligation, pursue a legitimate interest, or where you have provided consent.
Student and children’s information
Our services may involve processing students’ and children’s personal data. Where we process children’s personal data, we will:
● Collect only information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose;
● Apply appropriate safeguards to protect the child’s personal data;
● Restrict access to authorised persons with a legitimate need to access the information;
● Use the information only for relevant and lawful purposes; and
● Take appropriate steps to verify the authority of a parent or legal guardian for children below the age of 16.
Parents or legal guardians providing information about a child should ensure that they are authorised to do so and that the information provided is accurate.
Financial and payment information
We may process financial and payment information necessary to assess and administer your education-financing application and related transactions. Where payments are processed through third-party providers, those providers may process your information in accordance with their own privacy notices and applicable requirements.
Sharing Your Information
We may share personal data where necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations or support our legitimate business activities.
This may include sharing information with schools and educational institutions, payment providers, identity-verification and credit-assessment providers, technology and service providers, professional advisers, regulators and government authorities where legally required.
Where third parties process personal data on our behalf, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality, security and data-protection measures are in place.
Data retention and security
We retain personal data for five (5) years after the end of the relevant education-financing relationship or the last transaction, whichever is later, unless a longer period is required by applicable law or a legitimate legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or dispute-resolution requirement. At the end of the applicable retention period, personal data will be securely deleted, destroyed or irreversibly anonymised. Personal data relating to children will be subject to the same retention period only where it remains necessary for the relevant financing, legal or regulatory purpose and will otherwise be securely deleted earlier.
Your rights
Under the NDPA, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, object to certain processing, request data portability where applicable, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Our website may contain links to websites or services operated by third parties. This Privacy Notice does not apply to those third-party services, and we encourage you to review their privacy notices before providing them with your personal data.
